Checklist: your first shipment under the new rules

At a glance
- Registered, classified, checked. EDM with a contact person, the waste classified, the destination facility's permit in hand.
- Signed, with take-back. A contract with the consignee and the facility, with a take-back obligation. For notifications, the financial guarantee too.
- Two working days before. The form or movement document on time; quantity, carrier and container before departure.
- Available, unmixed, on the day. The information is available in the vehicle, the waste stays unmixed, and the date is right.
- Confirmation, certificate, five years. Receipt within two working days, a certificate after treatment, everything kept for five years.
In detail
Before every shipment
- Registration in EDM with a shipment contact person, test in eVerbringung passed (lesson 4.1).
- Procedure settled: Green List or notification; contamination checked (lessons 1.4 and 2.1).
- Role clear: who is notifier or arranger, based in Austria and with the permit needed (lesson 1.3).
- The destination facility is known, and its permit is at hand (lesson 2.2).

Always
- Count deadlines by the EU definition of a working day (lesson 4.3).
- Don't mix waste on the way Art. 19.
- Check the delivery day in the report against the actual one (lesson 2.3).
- Know what to do when a delivery is rejected (lesson 4.4).
- For exports, check the new prohibitions and the audit duty (section 5).
Checklist
- Registration in EDM with a shipment contact person is done and tested.
- Every waste stream has its procedure and its entry.
- Contracts with take-back are in place; for notifications, the guarantee too.
- Reports go out two working days before, counted by the EU definition.
- The carriers are registered and have an EU Login.
- Confirmations of receipt and certificates are chased.
- Everything is kept for five years.

The answer is D: The authorities' consent before transport. Green List waste is subject only to the general information requirements of Art. 18: form, contract, reports. Only shipments that need a notification need the authorities' consent (Art. 4, Art. 9).
